This month we were beside ourselves when opportunity presented itself.  In addition to a white table wine of exceptional value, we have also acquired Robert Parker’s 92pt rated Northstar Merlot (Reg. Price:  $44.99) for your September enjoyment.  Below you will find tasting notes for the current month’s selections.

2007 Northstar Columbia Valley Merlot (93pts – Wine Spectator):

-Diversity of vineyards and sub-appellations within the Columbia Valley are Northstar’s hallmarks.

-Well balanced with a nose of raspberry, plum, and cherry.

-On the palate at the beginning, notes of vanilla, coconut, and spice are evident.

-Tons of structure and balanced tannins make this a great wine to pair with food, including but not limited to veal marsala and lobster ravioli. (shown in right column, left image.)

14 Hands Hot to Trot White Blend:

-White grapes include Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Viognier.

-Pairs well with everything from bread and cheese to rich seafood and creamy pasta dishes.
